Craftsman Collision has donated $250,000 to North Vancouver's Lions Gate Hospital. Company President and owner Bill Hatswell delivered the sum over three years in response to a campaign by Lions Gate aimed at rebuilding its ailing ER equipment. Needs in the trauma room include increased monitoring and radiology for three trauma beds, a portable x-ray unit, a blood warming and storage machine, paediatric equipment for airway management and a fibre optic intubation larangoscope.

"Your early gift will be of immeasurable help, not only in funding the expansion and renovation of the ER, but also in attracting and setting the pace for additional leadership giving," said Campaign Chair Ken Rekrutiak in a letter. "I deeply appreciate your recognition of the need to improve our facility; to improve its efficiency and equip it with the state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment tools."

Craftsman’s Murphy Tarves, Dave Naismith, Marco Sui, Doug Koke and “patient” Taylor Storey race to raise funds for Lions Gate Hospital.

Craftsman was also proud to be a premier sponsor at the first annual Bed Races for the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation last September. Our entry — Team Hit ‘n’ Run — came from our North Van West location and beat everyone in its division. The track was sprinkled with speed bumps to make it interesting. The event was tons of fun and raised lots of money. Watch for us again at Park Royal Shopping Centre on September 20, 2008.
