At Craftsman we value the members that make up our communities. That’s why we believe in providing more than just money. We want to give back in a meaningful way.
Over the years, our partnerships with different charities have helped strengthen our resolve to improve the lives of those around us. This is why owner and founder Bill Hatswell, together with the Craftsman Group has donated nearly $1.5 Million to North Vancouver’s Lions Gate Hospital.
Craftsman has also contributed over $150,000 to the BC Canadian Heart & Stroke Foundation, and has raised more than $300,000 in groceries, cash and equipment for the Salvation Army Food Bank.
Other charitable organizations that Craftsman continues to support are the internationally renowned Vancouver Symphony Orchestra and the JDRF (Juveniles Diabetes Research Foundation) where over $200,000 has been donated respectfully to each cause.
While supporting large charities can help many people, we recognize the importance of also supporting smaller organizations. Craftsman is proud to sponsor local sports teams, charities and non-profits by offering them the tools they need to make a difference; whether it’s providing sports jerseys or lending them our name. After all, it’s these customers and their families who helped contribute to our success.
Supporting education is a win-win.
We can only count on finding quality employees if they’ve first received quality education. Which is why, besides feeling good, supporting schools and educational programs also makes good business sense.
Some programs we support have clear connections to our business – like our cash and vehicle donations to the School of Transportation at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), including the F-150 pickup that pulls the BCIT trailer to schools and events.
Other times, we simply support what we feel is worthwhile and enriching – like sponsoring an entertaining talk by Canadian celebrity astronaut Chris Hadfield to a large group of enthralled BC students. Or supporting post secondary educational institutions through scholarships and foundation sponsorships.
