Ben Cantafio
He’s a spaceship captain, singer, guitarist and author – as well as the hero of Craftsman’s West Kelowna shop manager Ben Cantafio. “Commander Chris Hadfield shows what a no-limit mindset can do,” says Ben. “He went from air force test pilot to astronaut, speaks fluent Russian, and bridged the divide between Russian and western astronauts for space exploration.” Another of his role models was veteran Craftsman manager Tom Cantafio, who now runs our Langley Bypass location. Hoping to follow in his dad’s footsteps, young Ben joined Craftsman as a detailer in 2009 and worked his way up – to parts coordinator, estimator, operations coordinator and finally manager, bringing the positive thinking and can-do attitude he so admires. Succeeding in collision repair also involves the right approach, and Ben’s is about as straightforward as it gets. “I put myself in the customers’ shoes,” he says. “It makes the right decisions effortless.”
