On Sunday, June 7 Craftsman Collision hosted its first ‘Do it Yourself’ Automotive Women’s Course. We had 13 women attend the 2.5 hour informal session at Craftsman’s North Vancouver West location.
The course covered a broad range of expertise and skills including the basic mechanics of a vehicle as well as the collision repair process. “It was geared for women who had limited knowledge of their automobile.”, says Laura Necochea, Human Resource Manager. “Our goal was to help improve women’s skills and understanding of their vehicle and teach them how to perform some basic maintenance and repairs.”
The course idea came out of a need in the community for a welcoming space for women to connect and gain automotive knowledge in a non-threatening way. “Mark Greenberg, GM of Business Development did a fantastic job of explaining what and how engine components work together and provided a really great base of knowledge for all of these women to work with (including myself).” says Laura.
All the women left feeling empowered with a bit more automotive knowledge.
Craftsman Collision hopes to offer another D.I.Y. Automotive Women’s Course this Fall. If you are interested in learning more about your vehicle in a fun and relaxed atmosphere, please drop us an email at info@craftsmancollision.com and we can send you more details once a date has been confirmed.
