As part of the Dakar Series, the Desafio Ruta 40 is soon coming to an end on Saturday, May 23rd with the completion of stage 5.
“I made it through stage 1 and 2 but cut the second stage early with wrist injuries.”, says Rick Hatswell, COO of Craftsman Collision. “Nothing major but I couldn’t use the clutch anymore.” He plans to not ride in stages 3 and 4 in order to rest and nurse his wrist injury. Rick said, “6 riders were heli-lifted out of the dunes with severe dehydration and one car exploded from the heat!”. He will ride in the final stage on Saturday to collect the coveted and well deserved medal of the Desafio Ruta 40.
